Junior Club Rules Junior Fixtures Junior Code of Conduct

The 'Jimmies' are a family friendly club run by unpaid volunteers for the love of the game.
If our organisation is stretched from time to time please help, it could be more fun than you think!

Be vocal and enthusiastic in support of the whole club.  Fair, friendly and good-natured support is the hallmark of good rugby and is appreciated by the players, coaches and supporters of both sides.

We have a good bunch of boys and girls of all ages from 7 to 17 who really enjoy their rugby.

But new members are always welcome even if you have never played before.

Aylestone St. James RFC provides coaching and playing facilities for players from all backgrounds and cultures and all the coaches are Rugby Football Union Qualified.

Training / Matches.

We train on Sunday mornings from 10am till 12 so why not come up and have a bit of fun and exercise. Bring the family to watch, have a bite to eat from the food kiosk and a drink from the bar. Some teams train mid-week but this is generally only for the U13’s and upwards. Often as the winter weather comes children will need to travel with some warm outer clothing and something dry to change into after the game/training. Home matches generally start at 11am on Sundays but come early for the warm-up. Away games can involve early starts from the clubhouse but the team coaches will let you know what time to meet and will have directions to the other club’s grounds.

Subscriptions.

The rates for 2005/06 are £35 for 1 child and £55 for 2 or more. Subs pay for insurance, pitch fees, post-game meal, equipment, coaching courses and most other things that we need as the season goes by. Please pay promptly. There are bound to be some who have difficulty meeting the subscriptions if you have a problem see your team coach. Regular fund-raising helps the youth section so please support the occasional raffle by buying as many tickets as you can. Events are published in the clubhouse.

Kit.

Club shirt, navy shorts, blue & white hoop socks and other equipment are available from Nina, our kit person, at very reasonable prices.

Boots with metal studs ‘no blades’ and mouthguards are essential. Shin pads may be a good idea but are not essential.
